Congrats to John Browne and Brendan McCartan co - owners of The Grandstand Pub & Restaurant, 8535 Grand Ave., Elmhurst, Queens, N.Y., on marking twenty one years of business.
The Grandstand has become an institution in the New York' Irish community. A place, which over the decades has been a conduit for the newly arrived Irish immigrant. An establishment where you are guaranteed to run into a genuine friendly face, especially if the Guv'nor, the jovial John Browne is on the premises and, of course, daughter - in - law, Deirdre from County Armagh.
John is a native of Kanturk, Co. Cork and a veteran member and past president of the County Cork Association of New York.
Lunch and dinner are served daily at The Grandstand. There is entertainment every weekend.
On St. Patrick's Day Weekend - Sun March 15 to Tuesday March 17 - the pub will feature the Sean Tracy Band.
