Our loyal and steadfast allies!
Advance Australia Fair!
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told recently to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. Prime Minister Kevin Rudd angered some Australian Muslims by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.
'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians . . .
This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom . . . We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! . . . Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture . . .
We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us . . . This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE . . . If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'
U.S. political representatives, take note!
Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, WE will find the courage to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

Exactly the kind of stuff I'd expect the kind of person who mounts a campaign against his own president to champion. You may be an ultra fascist right wing bigot Mr Hurley but at least you're consistent.
Chris, a uasal:
Conas ata sibh go leir san Cathair Corcagigh? I had a brief few words with the Dep. Mayor Patricia Gosch when she was over a few weeks ago. I passed on my regards through her to you.
"mounts a campaign against his own president". I assume you are referring to the Notre Dame campaign. Regretably, I am only a very minor cog in that machine. Close on 215,000 protest signatories - the majority of whom would be Irish Americans to some degree - and the campaign is only 10 days old. Of course, this is particualrly embarrassing and discomfiting for the Iveagh House mandarins who have carefully cultivated the myth that Irish Americans are all rabid left wing Democrats - Clinton, Obama and Uncle Teddy supporters. What's Micheal to do?
Are you suggesting that it is no longer patriotic to dissent now that Obama is in the White House and Dubya is gone? Ironically, such attitudes form the keystones of fascism!
If you guys in the Irish Left had spent more time questioning and dissenting the denizens of Kildare Street than worrying about every U.S. aircraft that landed in Shannon, perhaps the Irish economy would not be in such a shambles?
As regards, Aussie PM Rudd, there is nothing outrageous in his statement. Effectively what he is saying is that Muslims are welcome into our house. We do respect your cultural differences, but we do not accept that these differences should prevent you from assimilating. Here are the rules which we expect you to follow and if you don't want to follow them, then this is not the place for you.
You'll find that this is pretty much the sentiment of the Irish American community, not just me. And judging by the strict immigration legislation that has been considered, introduced, debated (passed?) by the Dail in recent years, I would say that it is the perspective of the majority of the Irish electorate as well. Minister Conor Lenihan and the Garda Turban?
As regards, Obama, a lot of voters over here are having "What have we done moments?" Even the Communist Chinese and your own socialist Euro Government think he is a left wing extremist.
Chris, a uasal, you may consider me "an ultra fascist right wing bigot" but Chris judging from your ramblings, you are very obviously consistently inconsistent.
Greetings to all in Cork City, especially to our good friend Cllr. Tony Fitzgerald, a diehard servant of the community up on the Northside.
